Privacy Policy

Who we are

The Darker Net is Vincente D’Ingianni’s NSFW corner of cyberspace. Our website address is: https://darkernet.dingianni.org. The site is personally run by Vincente D’Ingianni and hosted by Binary Systems (www.binary-systems.com).

Comments

When you leave a comment, we store the name, email address and website you enter, together with the comment itself, your IP address and your browser user agent string, to help with spam detection and moderation. Your email address is never shown publicly. Comments are moderated by hand.

Avatars are enabled on this site. Unless a commenter has a local avatar uploaded here, an anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a Gravatar profile picture. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public next to your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies, so you do not have to type them again next time. These cookies last for one year.

Logging in (site authors only) sets the standard WordPress login and screen-option cookies; login cookies last two days, or two weeks with “Remember Me”. Ordinary readers do not need to log in, and the site sets no advertising or analytics cookies.

Analytics, advertising and SEO

This site does not run Google Analytics, Google Site Kit or Google AdSense, and it does not show ads. We use the Yoast SEO plugin to generate page titles, descriptions, social sharing tags and XML sitemaps for search engines; Yoast does not set cookies for visitors or send your data anywhere.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles may include embedded content such as YouTube videos, images or posts from other sites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website: those sites (for example YouTube / Google) may collect data about you, use cookies, embed their own tracking and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, especially if you are logged in to them. See the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell or share your personal data. Beyond the Gravatar check and embedded content described above, comment data stays on this server. If an author requests a password reset, their IP address is included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized and approved automatically. For registered users (site authors), we also keep the personal information they provide in their user profile; they can see, edit or delete it at any time (except their username).

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments, you can request an export of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to erase it. This does not include data we must keep for administrative, legal or security purposes. To make a request, use the Contact page.
